Quality education has long been an intrinsic part of life on The Irvine Ranch®
This hasn’t happened by accident.
The Irvine Company has worked closely with K-12 districts on
the ranch for nearly four decades to help foster excellence in
education.
In this tradition,The Irvine Company is taking steps to make
certain that existing schools in the Anaheim Hills area can
easily absorb new students coming from Mountain Park.
The company has collaborated with the Orange Unified
School District to complete a school mitigation agreement
for Mountain Park that provides $50.4 million for school
improvements. This is nearly $30 million over and above the
$21 million legally required in developer fees. The agreement
will cover 100% of the costs associated with accommodating
the projected students generated by the new community.
As part of the school mitigation agreement,
The Irvine Company will:
- Build a $13 million K-6 school on 10 acres in Mountain Park
at a site adjacent to a 15-acre city park, providing opportunities
for joint use. Mountain Park children will temporarily be
housed at Imperial Elementary School in Anaheim Hills, which
has extra capacity to accommodate them until the new
school is built. The district receives much-needed Average
Daily Attendance (ADA) state funding for all new and
existing students.
- Provide $3.4 million to the district for middle school
improvements.
- Provide $4 million for high school improvements.
The Irvine Company brings significant expertise and knowledge
about financing programs, state construction funding and land
use planning to its partnership with the Orange Unified School
District, and the company will work with the district to help
secure additional funding so further efforts can be made to
modernize and expand existing schools.
Partnering With You
No other developer in Orange County comes close to making The Irvine Company commitment and contribution to local schools. We've done it before in other districts and we will continue that commitment in Anaheim.
